What is the sound of the world bursting at the seams that hold it together?

Members of the international artistic project No Logo Opera(tion) are trying to find an answer to that question. Sanja Tropp Frühwald, artistic director of the performing arts collective VRUM, together with Mirjam Schmuck and Fabian Lettow from the German kainkollektiv were inspired by a book written by a Canadian author Naomi Klein – ”No Logo”, where she talks about the dark side of the shiny exterior of brands and futility of logos. The ensemble is following traces of people and clothing in globalized undergrounds, no man’s land and ghost cities of the Southeastern Europe. They research the overlapping of seemingly incompatible extremes – from Balkan supermodels and ex textile giant employees to crossdressers attending a post war party in an underground shelter.
No Logo is a (re)constructed ‘‘contemporary baroque opera’’ which ostensibly connects the constructs of time and space and gives names and voices to the nameless and silenced who are in the background of European market exchange of people and goods.
